"Our vision is to ensure that no service-member has to abandon their dream of starting a family due to financial constraints—we're honored to work with a fantastic group of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to achieving this goal."

OUR STORY

Operation Baby was founded by Emma and Nick Perkins, Army veterans who met while serving on active duty. After marrying in 2017, they began trying to start a family and were met with repeated heartbreak—multiple miscarriages, followed by a rare diagnosis that made pregnancy extremely unlikely. Over the past 8+ years, they've endured four pregnancy losses and more than a dozen unsuccessful IVF cycles.

Through this experience, Emma and Nick uncovered a hard truth facing many military and veteran families: infertility treatment is often financially out of reach. Despite a lifetime of service, most fertility care is not covered by the Department of War's healthcare system, forcing couple to choose between crushing debt or giving up on having children alltogether.

Rather than accept that reality, they decided to turn their adversity into an opportunity to help others. Operation Baby was launched in 2020 to close that gap and directly support military and veteran couples facing infertility. The organization provides education, advocacy, and financial grants for fertility treatments and adoption expenses—with the goal of removing cost as the deciding factor in whether a service member can grow a family. They believe those who volunteer to serve this country should never be priced out of  the chance to become parents, and that strong families are foundation to a strong force.
