MILITARY TREATMENT FACILITIES

If you’re pursuing fertility treatment, it’s important to understand your options. There are currently six Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) that, in partnership with civilian clinics, handle a full range of fertility treatments. Although you will still need to pay out-of-pocket for most procedures, including IUIs and IVF, these services are usually offered at a significantly lower cost compared to civilian clinics.

  1. Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) - Bethesda, MD​

  2. Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC) - Honolulu, HI​​​

  3. Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) - Fayetteville, NC

  4. Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) - Tacoma, WA

  5. San Antonio Military Medical Center (SAMMC) - San Antonio, TX​

  6. Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) - San Diego, CA

MILITARY DISCOUNTS

Not all service members have access to the six major MTFs. Fortunately, there are a number of organizations that offer discounts and special rates to active-duty and veterans.

  1. SART

    • ​This resource lists all of the fertility clinics that provide discounted rates to veterans and active-duty members of the military. 

  2. Shady Grove Fertility

    • Shady Grove Fertility's Military Discount Program offers active U.S. military and reservists a 25% discount off of qualifying self-pay rates. To receive the military discount, present your U.S. military identification card at the time of the initial consultation.

  3. HRC Fertility 

    • In appreciation for the men and women who serve our country and keep us safe, HRC Fertility offers IVF discounts to active duty military and veterans. HRC offers a 40% IVF discount to active duty personnel and veterans. Locations that participate are: Oceanside, Laguna Hills, Newport Beach, Fullerton, Rancho Cucamonga, Pasadena, Encino, Westlake Village and West LA.

  4. The Bob Woodruff Foundation

    • The Bob Woodruff Foundation has established the Veterans Invitro Initiative (VIVA) program to help cover unreimbursed costs associated with reproductive treatment for injured veterans with service-connected infertility. 

  5. Tennessee Reproductive Medicine​

    • ​Tennessee Reproductive Medicine offers 35% off of IVF treatment for a patient or spouse who is part of a military, police, sheriff, or firefighter unit.

  6. The Colorado Center for Reproductive Medicine (CCRM)

    • CCRM offers a 20% discount for non-injured active duty military personnel and has 25 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
